11/08 Dr. Reinberg Achieves Certification
Jason L. Reinberg, MD, has achieved certification from the American Board of Dermatology. Board certification signifies that the physician has the knowledge, experience and skills requisite to provide high quality patient care. Dr. Reinberg's Dermatology practice is located on the 2nd Floor of the Washington Campus Building.

10/08 Flu Shot Clinic at Urgent Care
The Urgent Care facility on the Washington Campus will offer a flu shot clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9-11 a.m. $20 Cash Only. Preservative-free flu shots for ages 16 and older are available while supplies last.

10/08 Sixteenth Office for Patients First
Kirk E. Brockman, MD and Patrick R. Smith, MD, and the medical staff of St. Clair Medical Center joined Patients First Health Care on October 1, 2008. The practice will remain at the same convenient location at 370 North Commercial Street, St. Clair, and will be known as Patients First Health Care. This is the sixteenth medical clinic for the Patients First organization.

9/08 Patients First Achieves Accreditation
Patients First has been awarded accreditation from the Commission on the Accreditation of Skeletal Assessment Facilities (CASAF), an international accrediting program developed by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD). Patients First now joins the Bone Health Department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, as being one of only two CASAF accredited facilities in Missouri. Craig Holzem, MD, FAAFP, CCD and Kenneth Smith , MD, FAAFP, CCD, are the certified clinical densitometrists on staff at Patients First.

8/08 Cardiologist Joins Patients First
Michael A. Beardslee, MD, joined the Cardiology Division in August. He is located on the 2nd floor of the Washington Campus building. Dr. Beardslee was previously an associate professor at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Division of Cardiology, Washington University, St. Louis. Dr. Beardslee joins Dr. John Mohart and Dr. Brian Seeck in the Cardiology Division.

7/08 Dr. Linz and Dr. Ostrom Join Patients First
Patients First is pleased to announce the addition of Christian Linz, DO, and Kyle F. Ostrom, MD, to the staff. Dr. Linz specializes in Orthopedics and Dr. Ostrom specializes in Internal Medicine. Both physicians are located at the Washington Campus building.

6/08 Dr. Dilip Banerjee Retires
An Open House in honor of the retirement of Dr. Dilip Banerjee, Cardiology, was held on June 22, 2008. Patients, colleagues, and co-workers had the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Banerjee on the completion of a 32 year career in Washington.

6/08 Patients First Breaks Ground for New Addition
Patients First broke ground in June for the 109,000 square foot addition to the Washington campus building. Two three story towers will compliment the current building and will house a cancer center, an ambulatory surgery center and additional physician offices. Anticipated completion date is July, 2009. A three-story parking garage will be located behind the building.

6/08 Dermatologist Joins Patients First
Patients First welcomed Jason L. Reinberg, MD, Dermatologist, to the Washington campus on June 1, 2008. Dr. Reinberg, a Washington native, specializes in diseases of the skin, hair and nails. He is particularly interested in the prevention of skin cancer. Dr. Reinberg is located on the 2nd floor of the Washington Campus building.

4/08 Washington Physician to Join Patients First in May
Well-known Washington physician, Charles Sincox, MD, FAAFP, will join the Patients First Family Medicine Division on May 1, 2008. Dr. Sincox has been in private practice in Washington since 1971. Dr. Sincox will be located on the 3rd floor of the Patients First Washington campus.

3/08 Bourbon Office Opens
The Bourbon Internal Medicine Office opened in early March at 125 N. Old Hwy 66 in the building that formerly housed the Bourbon City Hall. Felipe Eljaiek, MD and Vivian Dudley, RN, CS, ANP/FNP, are the medical providers at this clinic. The Bourbon medical clinic is the fourteenth Patients First office located in East Central Missouri.

3/08 Dr. Brian Seeck Receives Certifications
Brian A. Seeck, MD, Patients First cardiologist, has received certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine, the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners which certifies competency in the management of pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Brian Seeck joined the Patients First Cardiology Division in July, 2007. His office is located in Washington.

1/08 Dr. Laurel Baumstark Joins Patients First in Hermann
Laurel Baumstark, MD, joined the Patients First Family Medicine Division and will see patients at the Hermann Office, 2006 Village Lane, on a full-time basis. Dr. Baumstark will retain medical staff privileges at the Hermann Area District Hospital. Dr. Baumstark provides medical care for all generations, including pediatrics and women's gynecologic services.

1/08 Urgent Care Doubles Physician Coverage
Patients First Urgent Care is now offering two full-time physicians on a daily basis. With two-full physicians available at all times, Patients First can achieve its goal of providing high quality and efficient medical care with minimal wait times.

11/07 Dr. Gretchen Kluesner Joins Patients First in Union
Gretchen E. Kluesner, MD, has joined the current medical practices of Dr. Shaukat Thanawalla and Dr. Beth Hammer at 97 St. Andrews Drive in Union. Dr. Kluesner is trained in internal medicine and pediatrics.

11/07 Physicians Join Patients First Urgent Care
Gina M. Mohart, MD, and Nestor M. Shust, MD, have joined the Urgent Care medical team in Washington. Both physicians are board-certified and have emergency medicine experience. Dr. Mohart is a graduate of hte University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine's six-year combined BA/MD program. Dr. Shust is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. These physicians join Dr. Ann Elizabeth Mohart and Dr. Thomas Farrell on a full-time basis.

9/07 Patients First Adolpts New Health Care Information System
Patients First has made a multi-million dollar investment in new technology that will improve patient care and efficiency throughout its multi-specialty, multi-location network. The medical group has chosen NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., to provide practice management and electronic medical records systems for the Patients First organization. The first phase has been completed, and the electronic medical records systems will be implemented mid-year, 2008.

9/07 Diagnostic Areas Achieve Accreditations
Patients First is happy to announce the following national accreditations:
The Heart Center received designation by ICANL as an Accredited Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory and Nuclear Medicine Laboratory.
The Diagnostic Center has been has awarded three-year terms of accrediation in MRI studies, gynecologic ultrasound, general and vascular ultrasound serivces, and breast ultrasound by the American College of Radiology (ACR)
The Sleep Disorders Center has been granted a five-year accrediation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
The CT Department received ACR accreditation for the CT program.
The Heart Center also received accrediation by ICAEL as an Accredited Echocardiography Laboratory in the area of adult transthoracic studies.
