Patients First Adds Ophthalmologist to Growing List of Specialists
Washington, MO, April, 2011 - Patients First Health Care is pleased to announce that Glenn
Sanford, MD, ophthalmologist, is joining the multi-specialty physician group in May, 2011. Dr. Sanford
will be located at the Patients First Washington Campus. Appointments are now being accepted by

Dr. Sanford is a West Point graduate and received his medical degree from the F. Edward
H'ebert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda,
Maryland. His internship and residency in ophthalmology were completed at the Madigan Army Medical
Center, Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Sanford has also been a clinical instructor at the Vanderbilt Eye
Institute at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Most recently Dr. Sanford served as an
ophthalmologist and chief of surgery at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Fort Campbell,
Kentucky. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Sanford also has a distinguished military career, having served at field hospitals in Iraq and
Afghanistan along with numerous state-side assignments. He has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal,
Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement
medal with two oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star, Afghanistan and
Iraq Campaign Medals, among others.
He has presented numerous ophthalmological studies at national and international medical
conferences and has also authored several publications used in ophthalmology training.
Dr. Sanford and his family have relocated to the Washington area.
Dr. Sandford will join other Patients First physicians in offering NextMD® to his patients, a
