About Patients First Health Care

Patients First Health Care is a Washington, Missouri-based health care system offering quality, convenience and value close to home for more than 215,000 patients throughout east central Missouri. Patients First takes a team-approach to health care, providing patients with access to quality, board-certified or board-eligible physicians, including primary care and 20 specialties in 21 convenient patient centers across six counties. Patients First coordinates health care across the entire continuum to make it more cost-effective for patients and to improve patient health outcomes.

Established in 1998, Patients First is a physician-directed organization where the needs of the patient come first. Utilizing the latest in technology, including electronic medical records through NextMD and NextGen, Patients First physicians and nurse practitioners partner with patients to help them manage their health and wellness as part of an integrated team. Through its Healthy Communities program and not-for-profit Education Foundation, Patients First reaches thousands of patients, families and community members through patient education, prevention events and wellness clinics.

Patients First is growing to meet the changes in health care and the needs of the community. It offers six treatment centers, urgent care, outpatient surgery, and a community hospital. With the addition of numerous new jobs and expanding facilities, Patients First has become one of the largest employers and real estate taxpayers in Franklin County.
